Design and Build Cabinet Making and Joinery Process
We consider each client’s requirements and ideas. Each project requires time to design and quote.
Here is how we manage the process:
For free standing furniture such as vanities and shelving we ask you to give us a brief outline of what you need, such as dimensions, type of materials, use and maybe a photo of the space or something similar you have or where your aspiration has come from. Sometimes a short phone call or meeting covers it all. We will then provide you with a drawing and quote and make alterations after your feedback if necessary.
For larger scale projects such as kitchens, wine cellars and shop fit-outs a site meeting is required. At this meeting we listen to what you wish to achieve with the project, then work with you to realise this. Site measurements are taken, suggested options are put forward and these are discussed so the brief is clearly understood. We can prepare sketch designs based on conversations with you at this meeting. If this meets your expectations, and you would like to work with us, we will then start working with you on your project to produce detailed drawings and a quote. The design fee is included in the overall price.
To start the manufacturing process we take a 50% deposit. Then require a stage payment and balance due on completion. Generally our production time is 3-4 weeks, depending on the size and scale of the project. Each project is bespoke so timeframes will be set with you at the outset of the project.
We take pride in producing high quality, original handmade joinery and custom-built furniture that is unique to every client. We do not work to pre-determined cabinetry dimensions, we work with you to design and manufacture to the client’s brief.
